This route offers a full, immersive experience, perfect for travelers who want to dive deep into the history and natural beauty of the Andes. Along the trail, you’ll explore diverse landscapes and encounter a wide range of flora and fauna. Starting from Km 82, this trek includes visits to several significant archaeological sites such as Llactapata, Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca, and Wiñaywayna. The journey begins at Km 104 and is ideal for those with limited time or who prefer a less demanding hike. Despite the shorter duration, you’ll still experience breathtaking views and visit key archaeological sites such as Chachabamba, Wiñaywayna, and the Sun Gate. After the hike, you’ll spend the night in the beautiful town of Aguas Calientes. The difficulty level is moderate, making it suitable for most hikers.

Both routes lead to the magnificent Machu Picchu, but the Classic Inca Trail offers a more extensive, immersive experience, while the Short Inca Trail is perfect for those seeking a shorter, yet equally unforgettable adventure.
