  • At 3:00 a.m. Pick up from your hotel in our private van
  • Drive toward the train station Ollantaytambo (train departs at 5:05 am)
  • The train rides through the sacred valley giving fascinating views (1:10 hours)
  • At 6:20 am Get off at the train stop Km 104 to start the hike with your professional tour guide
  • 3 hours hiking up hill and explore along the trail two ancient Inca sites – Chachabamba and Wiñaywayna
  • After satisfying your appetite with a delicious lunch, take an hour-long walk and bask in the exquisitely picturesque view from Sun gate.
  • 40 minutes gentle downhill to get the main spot to take the popular Machu Picchu photos
  • Catch the bus down to Aguas Calientes town (30 minutes)
  • At 6:00 p.m. at the train station (train leaves at 6:20 p.m.)
  • At 8:00 p.m. pick up from the Ollantaytambo station to drive back to Cusco.

During this session, either our knowledgeable guide or a member of our office staff will walk you through every aspect of your upcoming trek on the short Inca Trail. They’ll share invaluable tips and recommendations to maximize your comfort and enjoyment, drawing from their extensive experience leading diverse groups along this path. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and express any concerns, ensuring you embark on your adventure with confidence.

For your convenience, the briefing is scheduled for 7:00 pm at your hotel, but we offer flexible arrangements if you contact us a week before departure.

Journey Itinerary: Cusco – Inca Trail – Machu Picchu

Our journey commences early at 04:15 am, departing from Cusco to embrace the short Inca Trail 1 Day hike. The initial leg of our journey involves a drive to the Ollanta Tambo station, where we’ll board the Expedition train. After approximately an hour and fifteen minutes, we’ll arrive at kilometer 104, the starting point of our trek on the Inca Trail. A brief stop at the checkpoint allows for passport verification and a final chance to purchase water before we embark on the trail.

As we traverse the original pathway of the Inca Trail, we’ll be surrounded by the diverse flora and fauna emblematic of the Andes’ stunning landscapes. The trail ascends from the Sacred Valley, winding through historic sites like Chachabamba and Winaywayna, showcasing the incredible engineering of the Inca civilization. Our journey includes a lunch break at the scenic Wiñaywayna campground, offering picturesque views as you refuel.

Note: The box lunch is given at the beginning of the trip that is carried by yourself.
